How do I make an appointment for a tattoo?

How much is my tattoo going to cost?

There are many variables that effect the cost of your tattoo. We do our best to give estimates, but things such as, how long the client can sit, quality of skin, placement, and size can effect the price of your tattoo. Artist rates vary from $150-$200/hour, or $800-$1000 for the day rate (6-8 hours). DAY RATES only apply to large scale projects, and artist styles will take precedence. Day rates DO NOT apply to groups of people or an individual with multiple tattoos. Completing our INQUIRY FORM is required and helps us determine the best estimate All appointments and estimates are based on the amount of information given when first contacting our shop. It is very important to include anything you would like to share at the beginning of the process. Establishing a level of trust with your artist and allowing them the freedom to create a design that they feel would look best for your concept will allow them to not only apply your tattoo effeciently, but will also result in the best design for your tattoo. Giving our artists' creative freedom is always appreciated, and those pieces will take precidence when booking.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

Be sure to bring a valid form of photo identification (driver's license, state ID, or passport). We will have water on hand for clientele, but you are more than welcome to bring any snacks, candy, or non-alcoholic drinks with you to your appointment - especially if it's a long session.

What is an Appointment Deposit?

Your Appointment Deposit is a non-refundable amount paid at the time of scheduleing. This amount goes towards the final cost of your tattoo. The hourly rate for all artists is $150 per hour or $800 for the day (anything 5 hours or more). Full Days require a non-refundable $150 deposit, anything less than a full day requires a $100 deposit. No appointments will be made without a deposit. All appointments are scheduled for ONE tattoo - you can not use the day rate to get multiple smaller tattoos. This special rate is reserved for large scale projects as a thank you from our artists. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to make your appointment, and it is your first offense, we may rollover your deposit ONE (1) TIME at the artist's discretion. In cases that notify us less than 72 hours before your appointment - the deposit is forfeit. In order to book another appointment, a new deposit is required. After making your appointment, make sure to take note of the date and time. We are not responsible if you miss your appointment. If you personally cannot make it to your appointment, you can not give your appointment to someone else. They must go through the same process you did in order to obtain their own slot.

How old do I have to be to come to Cosmic Primate Tattoo?

Under no circumstances are children under the age of 18 allowed in the shop, this includes infants and toddlers. Please make alternative arrangements for your children. This goes for pets as well. No animals of any kind are allowed in the shop.

Will I see a drawing of my piece ahead of time?

All tatttoo designs are drawn up the day of the tattoo appointment (exception for UP FOR GRABS pieces). Every artist prepares their work differently, this may be determined by the size, subject matter, and/or placement of the piece. Many of our artists draw directly on the skin (freehand), and work with you day of to design the perfect tattoo for YOU.

What is important about a Reference Photo?

A reference photo helps the artist you choose get a GENERAL idea of what you are looking to get. None of our artists will duplicate another tattoo. We recommend sending us photos of the subject you are looking to do. Example: Instead of sending us a TATTOO of a wolf, send us a photo of a wolf you like.

Do you do piercings or sell body jewelry at your shop?

No. We are strictly a tattoos only shop.

Do I have to tip my artist?`

Tipping your artist is never a manditory gesture, but our artists are always appreciative of the little extra you give. This is our career and the only source of income to help many of us support ourselves and loved ones. We will always do our best to deserve your generous tipping.

Do you sell Gift Certificates?

YES! We sell gift certificates YEAR ROUND! So stop by the shop and grab one not only for the holidays, but any occasion you wish! *Gift Certificates expire after 1 year of non-use and are nonrefundable*
